Department of Public Safety
The goals of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), is to work alongside the county departments for a wide
range of public safety functions, including law enforcement, driver's licensing, and regulatory services. They enforce
public safety laws, prevent and detect crime, and provide various services to ensure the safety and well-being of
Texans.
Bastrop County houses the DPS state employees that provide public safety to Bastrop County. This budget only covers
the cost of county provided administrative personnel and their corresponding budget.
